The Rolling Stones announce reissue of ‘Some Girls’

Digital, Deluxe and Super-Deluxe editions of 1978 LP are being lined up

The Rolling Stones have announced plans to reissue their 1978 album ‘Some Girls’.

The LP, which has been remastered, will be available in digital, Deluxe and Super-Deluxe editions, with new packaging featuring liner notes by Rolling Stone writer Anthony DeCurtis and previously unseen photographs of the band shot by Helmut Newton around the time of the album’s original release.

The Super-Deluxe version will also include a seven-inch single of ‘Beast Of Burden’ featuring its original sleeve artwork. Frontman Mick Jagger told Spinner:

We did ‘Exile [On Main St]’, we did a lot of different takes, a lot of different cuts that hadn’t come out before, so we’re doing the similar kind of thing with ‘Some Girls’, so I’ve just been doing them because a lot of them weren’t complete, so I had to complete them, and then we’re going to mix those and put them out.

His comments come after Jagger said that he’d like The Rolling Stones to be given a plaque for their 50th anniversary next year, but that Keith Richards wouldn’t be allowed to come to the unveiling ceremony.
