The Rolling Stones get animated

In 'Faustian' tale

The Rolling Stones are set to be turned into cartoons, with the release of ’Ruby Tuesday’, an animated film featuring 12 of their songs.

The cartoon will be written and directed by brothers Paul and Gaetan Brizzi, whose previous work has included ’Asterix Vs Caesar’.

’Ruby Tuesday’ has been described as: “a Faustian tale of a single mother searching for happiness in New York“.

Reuters reports that the Brizzi brothers approached Victoria Pearman, who runs Mick Jagger’s company Jagged Films, for the idea for the film.

Pearman then enlisted French filmmaker Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp to co-produce and finance the project.

Production on the film is set to begin later this year. The song selection for the movie has yet to be confirmed.

The Rolling Stones have just completed a European tour, and return to North America for a string of dates later this month. The shows kick off on September 20 at Boston Gillette Stadium.
