will play two shows in China this April – the first time the communist super-state has allowed the veteran rockers to enter.
The band will play in Shanghai on April 1 and Beijing on April 4.
“Some of the legal procedures still need to be sorted out but The Rolling Stones are coming to China,” a spokesperson for Beijing Time New Century Entertainment > said.
Some of the show’s profits will be donated to disabled charities in China.
The Stonesare one of the very few Western bands to be allowed to play in China. A band spokesperson said they had tried to enter before but had always been denied.
“At the conference for the launch of the Licks tour in New York, Mick did say that The Stones would play China,” he told the BBC. “It’s going to be absolutely huge.”
The band have also announced two dates in India. They will play Bombay on April 11 and Bangalore on 13.
