The Soft Pack add US dates to tour

The newly-named band will continue to play into 2009

The Soft Pack have announced a string of dates to their current US tour, which will see them finish this year and start the next on the road.

The band, who recently changed their name from The Muslims, will perform their last show of the year with a show in Solana Beach, CA, and resume their tour on January 14 in Chicago, IL.

As previously reported, the band recently revealed that they changed their name due to racist comments .

They said: “Why did we change the name of our band? Because we hated it. When we started the band, the name meant absolutely nothing to us and grew to become something we couldn’t stand.

“We were disgusted with and exhausted by all of the ignorant, often racist, bullshit that came out of people’s mouths during shows/interviews/conversations.”

The dates are:

San Diego, CA Cane’s (with Franz Ferdinand) (December 15)

San Diego, CA House of Blues (16)

Los Angeles, CA The Echoplex (19)

Redondo Beach, CA Brixton (30)

Solana Beach, CA Bellyup Tavern (31)

Chicago, IL Schuba’s (January 14)

Philadelphia, PA King Fu Necktie (15)

New York, NY Mercury Lounge (16)

Brooklyn, NY Union Pool (17)

San Francisco, CA Bimbo’s 365 Club (23)
