Odds lengthen for Chef, Fat Les and other high-cultural pop artefacts...
Spice Girls are now looking dead certs for the coveted (or otherwise) Christmas number one slot, with bookmakers William Hill giving them odds of 1-5 (that means if you bet a fiver, you only make a pound) with CHEF‘s ‘Chocolate Salty Balls’ in an increasingly less enviable second place at 7-1.
The Spice Girls ‘Goodbye’ will be their third consecutive Christmas number one. The only other serious challenge comes from JANE MCDONALD whose ‘Cruising To Christmas’ is at 10-1, with the odds for the ‘star’ of the BBC fly-on-the-wall docu-soap looking set to join the other also rans in the dustbin of history. Odds on FAT LES‘s ‘Naughty Christmas (Goblin In The Office)’ have lengthened to a pitiful 33-1, level pegging with BILLIE and MARIAH CAREY & WHITNEY HOUSTON‘s excruciating theme from Prince Of Egypt.
NME tipster’s advice: Bet large on The Spice Girls.
