MEL SPICES UP CHART

The Spice Girl takes over from Robbie Williams...

SPICE GIRL MEL C has today (August 13) gone straight to number one in the UK top 40 with the Ibizan tinged ‘I TURN TO YOU’.

MEL takes over from old flame ROBBIE WILLIAMS who managed just a week at the top with comeback single ‘Rock DJ’.

In a quiet week Janet Jackson also made a chart return, hitting number five with ‘Doesn’t Really Matter’ and Bob Sinclair saw his house track ‘I Feel For You’ go to number ten. On down the chart Red Hot Chili Peppers scuffed into the top 20 at 16 and Embrace could only manage number 23.

The scrap begins tomorrow (August 14) for next week’s top spot with Mel C’s Spice colleague Victoria Beckham and Spiller the favourites.

The album chart remained virtually unchanged with Ronan Keating, The Corrs and Eminem maintaining the top three places. The only new entries in the top 10 came from Red Hot Chili Peppers at nine and Carlos Santana edging back in at number ten.
