The star is furious over claims that she had a dig at her Irish rivals as they prepare to release albums on the same day...

POSH SPICE VICTORIA BECKHAM has accused Westlife of lying over remarks THE SUN newspaper alleged she made to the band.

In today’s issue of the paper (October 20) Posh is reported to have confronted Westlife singer Kian Egan in London‘s Chinawhite club several weeks ago and said: “You’ve been very lucky with your number ones. Your single sales have been very low and we’re going to trash you when the album’s released. Don’t mess with us or you’ll get hurt.”

However a spokesperson for the star has rubbished the claims as “complete nonsense”.

“They were in the same place briefly but didn’t even speak,” she said. “Victoria popped in for a bit with her sister and Dane [Bowers]. Kian didn’t speak to Victoria and she never said a word to him.”

Eagn is reported in The Sun claiming: “She just came up to me and had a go. I was quite surprised but not worried. Our album is a much better buy than the Spices. We’ll just see what happens.”

A spokesperson for the Irish boyband this afternoon stood by the claim, telling NME.COM that it happened as reported.

The war of words between the two groups looks set to escalate in the coming weeks as they will both be vying for top spot in the album charts when new records are released by both on November 6.
