NOTHING LASTS ‘FOREVER’

MEL C has revealed that tonight’s (November 16) MTV EUROPE AWARDS could be the last time the SPICE GIRLS appear together onstage.

The band, whose latest album ‘Forever’ only made Number 39 in the US Billboard chart this week, are to perform at the awards ceremony in Stockholm. But Mel C has told this morning’s Daily Record that their future as a group is in serious doubt.

She said: “We’re not really sure about our future at the moment. We are going to see how everything goes. There will be no Spice tour. Next year I’ll be doing a solo tour, Emma and Victoria will be releasing their own albums and Mel B will be working on her follow-up.

“The last time we will probably all be together onstage is at the MTV Europe Awards. After that, I don’t know.”

With the album slipping down the UK Top 10, she added: “We’re not interested in striving to be the best any more, we’ve done that and we just want to do the things that will mean something again. We all enjoy our Spice work, but we are having a really hard time at the moment and we’ve got to a stage where we just want to be happy.”

Meanwhile, the Awards tonight – which features performances from U2, Madonna, Moby, Ricky Martin and Backstreet Boys – is reportedly shaping up to host the latest round of the Robbie Williams – Liam Gallagher row. Robbie will perform his single ‘Kids’ with Kylie Minogue, and is in the running for four awards, while the Oasis singer is in Stockholm with girlfriend Nicole Appleton, Robbie’s ex-fiancee.
