Watch as The Stone Roses put two classic songs back into their live set

Band are rumoured to be playing another secret show this weekend

The Stone Roses reintroduced classic songs ‘Sally Cinnamon’ and ‘Mersey Paradise’ into their set at the second of their warm-up shows.

Playing at the 1,400-capacity Carlisle Sands Centre last night (June 8), the band performed 1987 single ‘Sally Cinnamon’ and ‘She Bangs The Drums’ B-side ‘Mersey Paradise’, which hadn’t been performed at the previous night’s show at the similarly intimate Halifax Victoria Theatre.

Fan-shot footage of ‘Sally Cinnamon’ from the show can be seen below.

The songs were performed instead of ‘Elizabeth My Dear’ and ‘Begging You’. The latter track had been performed in Halifax for the first time since The Stone Roses reunited in 2012. The rest of the 16-song setlist was virtually identical to Halifax, beginning with ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ and ‘Elephant Stone’ and ending with ‘Breaking Into Heaven’ and ‘I Am The Resurrection’.

Comeback single ‘All For One’ was again aired around the middle of the set.

Before the show, Ian Brown was seen giving away a handful of tickets to lucky fans as he entered the venue for the band’s soundcheck.

The show is the last advertised warm-up before The Stone Roses play four shows at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on June 15-19. However, there are rumours of a warm-up hometown show in Manchester taking place on Saturday, with tickets going on sale tomorrow (Friday). NME will keep you updated if any such concert is confirmed.
