Happy Mondays man says he reckons reunion will happen though
Speaking in The Sun today (May 26), Ryder said he believed a reunion was definitely on the cards. He said: “I think it’ll happen, I really do. There is more of a chance now than ever of them getting back together. Ian [Brown]’s just split with his missus and I bet she’s hit him for a few quid.”
Ryder added that he thought the only reason a reunion was likely was because Brown needed the money. He said: “The only reason they [The Stone Roses] will get back together is if Ian needs the cash. He never has before, he’s a millionaire.”
Rumours of a reunion of The Stone Roses resurfaced last month after Brown and guitarist John Squire were photographed meeting up at the funeral of bassist Mani’s mother, but were quickly denied by the band.
The Stone Roses split up in 1996, having released two albums.
Ryder meanwhile is due to play a solo show at London‘s Proud2 on June 3.
