V Festival set for a largely dry weekend

Both Chelmsford and Staffordshire will see some rain, but nothing too drastic

Punters heading to V Festival this weekend can expect a mostly dry weekend, but both Hylands Park and Weston Park will get some rain.

According to Metcheck, the festival’s Chelmsford leg will have a dry Saturday (August 18) with lots of sun. Temperatures are expected to hit 28 degrees, so if you’re going, you had better pack some sunscreen, unless you want to be sunburnt while watching The Stone Roses later on.

The weather on Sunday (August 19) will be less good. Although temperatures are set hit a high of 29 degrees, a sharp shower is expected to hit the site in the afternoon. It should have passed on by the time The Killers take to the stage though.

The Staffordshire site will enjoy similar weather, with slightly cooler temperatures and more overcast afternoons. It will also have some showers on Sunday afternoon, but they are expected to have passed on by the evening.

V Festival takes place this weekend, with headline sets from The Stone Roses and The Killers. Nicki Minaj, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Frank Turner, Friendly Fires, Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol also set to perform.
