The band to release their first album on the label in 22 years...
Veteran rock band Stranglers look set to release their first album with EMI since 1981.
The band, famed for hits such as ‘Golden Brown’, have just signed a new deal with the label, 22 years after the last EMI release ‘La Folie’.
Bassist JJ Burnel also revealed plans for a new album. “It’s called ‘Norfolk Coast'”, Burnel explained to the BBC’s 6 Music. “The first single, ‘Good Thing Coming’, is out in January. It’ll be no small feat for a bunch of old geezers like us!”
The band, who begin a UK tour in November, have a new line-up, after ex-vocalist Hugh Cornell left the band to pursue a solo career. Burnel and Paul Roberts will provide the vocals on the new album and tour.
