Strokes fans give their verdicts on ‘Under Cover Of Darkness’

Debate is underway at NME.COM/blogs

The Strokes‘ fans have been giving their opinions on the band’s comeback song ‘Under Cover Of Darkness’.

The song was made available as a free download for two days from last night (February 9), with fans giving their verdicts at NME.COM/blogs.

Generally, the response to the New York band’s first new material in five years has been positive.

“Stellar tune”, “brave and unique” and “fantastic – sounds old and new all at once”, were some of the posts written by users on the blog. One user, Frankie, went so far as to describe the song as sounding like “youth exploding in your face”.

However, a few fans criticised Julian Casablancas‘ vocals, and user Mike said that the track, the lead single from fourth album ‘Angles’, “sucks”.
