The Strokes are very keen to team up with their heroes at the Scottish bash...

say the reason they have signed up for this year’s T IN THE PARK festival is because reformed indie heroes Pixies are also on the bill.

Guitarist Albert Hammond Jnr admits his band are huge fans of the Pixies, who have reunited to tour for the first time in 12 years this summer. And Hammond Jnr hopes there could even be a collaboration on the cards.

He told BBC Radio 1: “I don’t know – I know that we’re lucky enough to be playing with the Pixies, which is a dream come true really, and who knows, maybe something happens with the band, but you know it’s more fun to be spontaneous with that, maybe it happens like a surprise and not anything that’s said before, you know!”

In addition to The Strokes and the Pixies , Snow Patrol, The Chemical Brothers, Franz Ferdinand Muse, [/a], [a], [a][/a], Scissor Sisters and Dogs Die In Hot Cars will also join the line-up for the event.

T In The Park 2004 takes place at Balado, Kinross near Glasgow, over the weekend of July 10-11 2004.
