Support act Regina Spektor joins the band onstage in New York...

THE STROKES were joined onstage by support act REGINA SPEKTOR at their gig in NEW YORK last night (October 29).

The band played the first of a two night residency at the Theater at Madison Square Garden (October 29), as part of their ongoing North American tour in support of second album ’Room On Fire’.

According to fans at the show, the group have added a duet with Spektor to their set, which has been so far made up of their two studio albums.

An eyewitness claimed: “They’ve added a duet to the show with opening act Regina Spektor. Julian (Casablancas) had a second mic stand brought on stage.

“As Regina joined him, he announced that they had recently recorded a song with her, but gave no title.”

The new song is said to sound like a Strokes song, with the two singers performing together for most of the track.
