The Strokes are set to support the Rolling Stones on a pair of dates during their upcoming 40 Licks US Tour.

They’ll play at the FedExField in Washington on October 4 and Hartford Civic Centre on October 5.

The shows will be part of The Strokes‘ US tour starting on October 1 in Portland.

Rolling Stones begin their tour in Boston on September 3. They played a warm-up show at the Palais Royale in Toronto last Friday(August 16). Their 80 minute, 15 song set in front of an audience of 1,000 – including actress Sharon Stone – saw them run through hits such as ‘Brown Sugar’ and ‘Wild Horses’ and more obscure tracks ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Sad Sad Sad’. They also debuted new song ‘Don’t Stop’ which will feature on the ’40 Licks’ greatest hits compilation due in autumn.

The Strokes headline the main stage at the Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend (August 23-25).
