THE STROKES have been forced to postpone this evening’s date on their UK tour at LIVERPOOL LOMAX because drummer FABRIZIO MORETTI has broken his hand.
A spokesperson for the venue contacted NME.COM minutes ago (June 22) to say that the show will definitely not take place this evening because of the injury.
Moretti fell following the band’s show in Glasgow (June 20), but managed to play the next night in Manchester (21) with the injury. However, it has since beome apparent that the hand is broken, and Morettivisited hospital today to have it placed in a cast.
The Liverpool venue are currently recommending fans should keep hold of their tickets, as a decision as to whether the show will be rearranged is likely to be made next week.
A UK spokesperson for the band was unable to speculate on whether any other shows on their UK tour, due to end in London on June 28, will be affected by the injury. He said the band are considering the possibility of finding a replacement drummer for the remaining shows.
The rest of the tour is due to take place at:
Sheffield Leadmill (June 23)
Leeds Cockpit (24)
Birmingham Little Academy (26)
Colchester Arts Centre (27)
London Heaven (28)
