Strokes have announced plans to join WEEZER for five dates on their US tour, kicking off on July 17.

They will also play five dates at a series of radio festivals in America before the end of this month. The only dates outside the US lined up before the end of the summer will take the band to the Reading, Leeds and Glasgow Green festivals. A posting on their official site also says a full US and Canadian tour is being lined up for October and November. No details of dates are revealed.

[a][/a] are said to be currently in New York working on the follow-up to their debut album ‘Is This It’. According to Billboard, the album has now sold over 560,000 copies in America.
