Albert Hammond Jr plays The Strokes’ ‘One Way Trigger’ live – watch

Guitarist 'covers' song from New York band's 2013 album 'Comedown Machine'

Albert Hammond Jr has begun playing ‘One Way Trigger’ by The Strokes during live shows. See above to watch his first performance of the band’s song in Newcastle.

The track is taken from the NYC band’s 2013 album ‘Comedown Machine’ and, as The Strokes have not yet toured following the release of the album, has so far gone unplayed live. Fan footage of the gig at Newcastle’s O2 Academy 2 last night (May 6) shows the guitarist playing the song for the first time.

Tweeting fans after the show, Hammond Jr promised to play the song again at future shows and said he chose to cover the track because “I wrote it”.

@camillealise: @alberthammondjr you played one way trigger????”
