Julian Casablancas has said that The Strokes will record again while also discussing the eclectic sound of his new solo album.
The Strokes frontman is currently preparing to release a new solo album alongside his band The Voidz, and recently premiered five songs from the record at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
Speaking to Mexican publication La Tercera about the album, Casablancas compared its sound to artists such as Black Flag and French electronic artist Sébastien Tellier, saying: “There are 45 different things that I’d like to do. I do not like hearing the same genre for three songs in a row.”
Meanwhile, talking about The Strokes, Casablancas shared an optimistic image of the band’s future. “We’re trying to carry on as friends, taking it easy, recording a couple of songs, and do a couple of shows.”
