GLASTONBURY organiser MICHAEL EAVIS has annouced that the UNSIGNED PERFORMERS COMPETITION will continue in 2005.
Following the success of this year’s overall winners The Subways, Eavis is again inviting bands to submit demos to win a slot at the festival.
“You’re musical, you’re brilliant, you’re not signed (yet) and you’re up for playing one of the biggest stages in the world,” Eavis wrote on the Glastonbury website.
“Following the huge success of the 2004 inaugural Unsigned Performers Competition, Glastonbury Festival offers further opportunities for new bands and artistes to grace the hallowed fields of Worthy Farm in 2005 – subject of course to a Public Entertainment Licence.”
The Subways, and other winners like Bristol’s Blackbud, have since secured record deals as well as playing a host of other festivals over the summer.
Those interested in entering should send a demo alongwith the application form you can download from [url=]here. Entries should be received no later than January 10 2005.
