The Tears play a secret gig in Oxford...

BRETT ANDERSON and BERNARD BUTLER were reunited on stage last night (December 14) for the first time in ten years.

The pair’s new band The Tears had previously announced their first live show would be at the London Heaven tomorrow (December 16), two days before an appearance in Spain at Barcelona Razzmatazz (18).

However, the group played an unadvertised show at the Oxford Zodiac (December 14) to roadtest their new songs.

The setlist ran: ‘Brave New Century’

‘2 Creatures’

‘Fallen Idol’

‘Feels Like Monday’

‘Beautiful Pain’

‘Apollo 13’

‘A Love As Strong As Death’

Following their December low-key dates, The Tears will return to London for their biggest gig so-far at a ShockWaves NME Awards date at the London Astoria (February 16).

They’ll be joined by The Magic Numbers, The Dead 60s and nu-grungers Nine Black Alps.
