The Ting Tings have posted a video of their first track in over a year.

The clip, which is co-directed by the band, has surfaced online featuring singer Katie White and Jules De Martino performing in a skate park before ending with a little samurai action as the singer channels Uma Thurman’s character The Bride from the Quentin Tarantino movie Kill Bill. The track – ‘Hang It Up’ – is the band’s first in 13 months following their 2010 comeback single ‘Hands’.

The pair have since been recording their long awaited second album in Berlin, London and Spain. According to Amazon it is scheduled for a UK release on January 16, 2012.

Earlier this year they described the follow up to their 2008 debut ‘We Started Nothing’ as having more of a “dark side”. De Martino commented: “It was hard for us to judge this LP because we’re always wrong, we say we have made a more serious record and then people will think it’s really uplifting.”

He added: “I think this album has a dark side to it, more so than the first one.”
