The Vaccines reveal new single ‘Melody Calling’ – listen

New single to be released in August

The Vaccines have revealed new song ‘Melody Calling’.

The song was recorded during the band’s US sessions in March at Eldorado Studios in Burbank, LA, with producers John Hill (Rihanna, MIA, Santigold) and Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys). ‘Melody Calling’ will be released in August, prior to The Vaccines’ US tours with Phoenix and Mumford and Sons.

The prolific band released their second album ‘Come Of Age’ in 2012, having released their debut the year before. They headed to Los Angeles in March to lay down “a few” new songs, of which ‘Melody Calling’ is one. Speaking to NME earlier this year, frontman Justin Young admits he does not know what will become of the the “different” sounding songs, but he is hopeful fans will be able to buy them soon.

“We recorded a few songs in LA last month with John Hill and Rich Costey, and we’re just working out what to do with them,” says Young. “They feel like a bridge to something else so I guess they’ll be an EP, but I guess there is a small chance they might be the start of album three, because I feel very creative at the moment. They feel quite different so it’s exciting. We’re trying a lot of things for the first time.”

The Vaccines will play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this Friday (June 28) before Dizzee Rascal and headliners Arctic Monkeys. Click here to listen to ‘Melody Calling’ now.
