The Vaccines, Jake Bugg, AlunaGeorge for Newcastle’s Evolution Festival

Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding, Drenge and Rudimental will also play the May Bank Holiday event

The Vaccines, Jake Bugg, AlunaGeorge and Paloma Faith are amongst the acts set to play this year’s Evolution Festival.

The two day event takes place over the May Bank Holiday, from May 26-27 at Newcastle Gateshead Quayside.

Ellie Goulding, Bastille, The Strypes, Drenge, Rudimental, Modestep and Subfocus will also be performing live.

Of the event, Evolution Festival promoter Jim Mawdsley has said: “We have been working damned hard over the last few months to put together the strongest, most varied line up yet. As usual we are proud to have such a strong mix of today’s heavy weights and future stars.”

Last year’s event saw Dizzee Rascal return from a lengthy sabbatical to play the festival. Through the pouring rain, the rapper played a greatest hits set, with ‘Sirens’, ‘Just A Rascal’ and ‘Fix Up, Look Sharp’ all making an appearance.
