Justin Young's vocal features on the track, mixed by The Cribs' guitar technician
The Vaccines have had a reggae makeover in this remix of ‘If You Wanna’ – listen to it above.
The track is set to feature on the debut album from The Shiptones, aka The Cribs’ guitar technician Chris Shipton.
The Vaccines are set to release their second album ‘The Vaccines Come Of Age’ on Monday (September 3), going head to head with Two Door Cinema Club’s second album ‘Beacon’.
Speaking to NME at this weekend’s Reading Festival, singer Justin Young said: “Are there any second album nerves? I don’t feel that nervous, I just feel excited. We’ve made a better record, we’ve made a record of songs that we really like and we’ve trusted our gut instinct with it. That’s what we did with the first album too.”
Young and bandmate Arni Arnason also joked that even though they’ve titled their new single ‘Teenage Icon’, they believe their lack of drug habits and the unlikelihood of them dying soon makes them “rubbish teenage icons”.
Justin Young said: “If I am a teenage icon, I’m a rubbish teenage icon.” Arnason then turned to him and asked him what he believed he was missing, to which Young replied: “A heroin addict and premature death. They could still both happen I suppose.
