THE VERVE have pulled out of their scheduled appearance at the Tibetan Freedom Concert on Sunday, June 14.

NME understands that Verve bassist Simon Jones (pictured) collapsed after a concert in Munich, Germany on Saturday night (June 6). Jones has been ordered to rest fully for one week, resulting in the cancellation of the band’s remaining German shows at Dusseldorf (7), Hamburg (9), Berlin (tonight, 10), an appearance at Hultsfeld Festival in Sweden (12) and Sunday’s Tibetan Freedom slot.

The Verve have returned to England while they await the outcome of Jones’ recuperation period and of doctor’s tests on the bass player.
