THE VERVE REORGANISE NEXT AMERICAN VISIT

THE VERVE are reported to be re-shuffling the dates for their next US appearances from spring to summer...

THE VERVE, the most-honoured band in Britain this year following their four NME Brat Awards and three Brits, have postponed their imminent Spring tour of the US.

The Los Angeles Times reported on February 15 Verve manager Jazz Summers saying that Verve lead singer Richard Ashcroft “wanted to get some new music out of him, some recording and some rest” before playing in the States again. The band completed a very successful, high-profile club tour there late last year.

The LA Times report added that the expected plan now was for the band to announce a summer US tour with an escalation in venue sizes from the cancelled 3,000-seaters to new venues around the 10,000-capacity mark.
