The band are now mixing the eagerly awaited follow up to 'Highly Evolved'...

Vines are now mixing their second album having recorded 11 songs for the follow-up to ‘HIGHLY EVOLVED’.

Like The Strokes before them with their new LP ‘Room On Fire’, the group have recorded only a small number of tracks.

The LP is expected to be released early in 2004, and the new material has been described by singer Craig Nicholls as “futuristic but, at the same time, really very raw”. Among the songs expected to be included are live regulars ‘Autumn Shade II’, ‘Fuck The World’, ‘Amnesia’ and ‘Evil Town’.

The album now has a title, but bassist Patrick Matthews told the Sydney Sun Herald keeping his cards close to his chest. “I don’t think we get to cast a vote,” he said. “Craig will decide. We could have a band meeting but if the title wasn’t what he wanted he would probably lock himself in a room until it was. Either that, or he’d quit the band.”
