The Virgins upset crowd at T In The Park

Brooklynites say "what’s up Edinburgh?" to the crowd at the festival in Balado

The Virgins made one of the biggest festival faux pas at T In The Park today (July 11) by shouting out the wrong location.

Bouncing onto the Red Bull Bedroom Futures Stage, lead singer, Donald Cumming of the hotly-tipped Brooklyn band greeted the crowd by shouting “What’s up Edinburgh?”, to much bemusement and heckling from the small crowd who gathered for the band’s performance.

The festival is held in Balado, near Kinross, with Edinburgh, the Scottish capital, around 30 miles from the site.

Despite the initial bad reaction from the crowd, The Virgins soon drew more people into the tent wanting to hear the band.

‘Rich Girls’ received the biggest cheer from the crowd who forgave Cumming’s earlier mistake.

The crowd reserved most of their energy for set closer ‘One Week Of Danger’, with Cumming thanking the crowd for coming along to see the band.
