Band will take new album 'Heaven' out on the road later this year
The Walkmen have announced a full UK and Ireland tour for later this year.
The New York band, who will release their brand new album ‘Heaven’ on June 4, will play five shows in October.
The run kicks off at Birmingham’s HMV Institute on October 27 and runs until November 1, when the band headline London’s HMV Forum.
The album has been produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Modest Mouse) and features Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold contributing harmonies to two tracks. It is the band’s seventh album and you can hear the first single ‘Heartbreaker’ by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
Speaking about the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Lisbon’, frontman Hamilton Leithauser said: “We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement.”
The band will also preview the album with a sold-out London show at the Village Underground on June 12, and, are confirmed to play this summer’s Green Man Festival.
