Former The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes announces debut solo tour

Dates follow new single More Than You’ll Ever Know

Former The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes has announced his debut solo tour.

Sykes will play six shows, starting at Glasgow ABC2 on April 8 and ending at London Bush Hall on April 15. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday (March 13).

The gigs follow a week after Sykes unveiled his first solo song More Than You’ll Ever Know. He is working on his debut solo album with writers and producers including Diane Warren, Babyface, Jennifer Lopez songwriter Harmony Samuels and newcomer LDN Noise. Songs scheduled for the album include Money, Kiss Me Quick and Famous.

Sykes made his solo debut while still a member of The Wanted on his then-girlfriend Ariana Grande’s song Almost Is Never Enough, which reached No 49 in the UK in 2013.

The Wanted split in 2014. A statement in January that year said that they would work together again, but three months later singer Siva Kaneshwaran told The Daily Mirror: “It wasn’t The Wanted team anymore. It was every man for himself.” Sykes and fellow singer Max George have signed solo deals with their old band’s manager Scooter Braun, who also manages Justin Bieber. In February, George filmed a cameo role for the next series of Glee.

Nathan Sykes will play:
Glasgow ABC2 (April 8)
Newcastle O2 Academy 2 (9)
Birmingham Temple (11)
Manchester Ruby Lounge (12)
Brighton Komedia (14)
London Bush Hall (15)
