The War On Drugs announce 2015 headline tour

The band will play eight UK shows in February

The War On Drugs have announced a string of tour dates for 2015, taking in eight shows in February.

The Philadelphia band, fronted by Adam Granduciel, will play shows in Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Southampton, Brighton, Edinburgh and Newcastle alongside their largest UK headline show to date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday, October 3 and the full list of dates is as follows:

Manchester Albert Hall (February 19, 2015)
Southampton O2 Guildhall (21)
Brighton Dome (22)
London O2 Academy Brixton (24)
Nottingham Rock City (25)
Leeds Brudenell Social Club (26)
Newcastle Eastside (27)
Edinburgh Usher Hall (28)

The War On Drugs released their critically-acclaimed third studio LP ‘Lost In The Dream’ earlier this year. The record follows on from 2011’s ‘Slave Ambient’ and 2008 debut ‘Wagonwheel Blues’.

Meanwhile, the group recently faced harsh criticism from Sun Kil Moon frontman Mark Kozelek during their set clash at Ottawa Folk Festival. Kozelek reportedly called the band “beer commercial, lead guitar shit” before declaring that the next song in their set was called ‘The War On Drugs Can Suck My Fucking Dick’.
