An executive from The Weeknd's label appeared to confirm the news during a roundtable discussion
An executive from Republic Records, the label The Weeknd is signed to, confirmed the news during a “hitmakers roundtable” hosted by Billboard in July.
Executive VP and head of urban A&R Wendy Goldstein was asked what artist she’d like to work with, as Pitchfork reports.
“Well, actually, we have a session coming up in two days with The Weeknd and Daft Punk, and I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan,” she said. “This is the first time I’ve been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them.”

The Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye had previously hinted at the collaboration via a Facebook post featuring action figures of the French producers.
