The White Stripes announce European dates

They'll play German festivals in June

The White Stripes have announced their first European festival appearances of the year.

The Detroit duo are set to play Germany’s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park Festivals on June 1 and 2.

Also on the bill for Europe’s largest open-air music festivals are Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, and Travis. More than 150,000 people are expected to attend.

As previously announced, The White Stripes have just finished mixing and recording a new album entitled ‘Icky Thump’. A release date for the follow up to 2005’s ‘Get Behind Me Satan’ has not yet been set, but it is expected out in June.
