Jack and Meg's UK jaunt reaches Blackpool...

White Stripes’ tour notched up two more triumphant shows in BLACKPOOL this week (January 27-28).

Despite converting the town’s famous ballroom to a primal rock venue, countless red-and-white clad couples ballroom danced hand-in-hand to ‘Apple Blossom’ and ‘In the Cold, Cold Night’.

While Tuesday’s show was light on conversation, Jack had the word ‘Noxious’ written on his arm. He instead let some of their greatest hits do the talking – only pausing to ask where “the Blackpool lights” were, meaning the illuminations.

After some confused banter with the front of the crowd he gave up, saying “I guess it’s just a case of ‘right place, wrong time'”.

And after being hit in the face by a shoe in Glasgow, another unwanted item of footwear just missed its target, while Jack almost smashed Meg in the face with a microphone stand.

Tuesday’s setlist was:

’When I Hear My Name’

’Black Math’

’Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground’

’I Think I Smell A Rat’

’Take A Whiff On Me’

’Jack The Ripper’

’In The Cold, Cold Night’

’Hotel Yorba’

’Offend In Every Way’

’I’m Finding It Harder To Be A Gentleman’

’Why Can’t You Be Nicer To Me?’
