White Stripes have earned their first-ever nominations for the prestigious GRAMMY AWARDS.

The full list of nominees was announced yesterday at the Beverley Hills Hilton, and ‘Elephant’ was put forward for Album Of The Year, as well as Best Alternative Album.

Jack and Meg’s single ‘Seven Nation Army’ also picked up two nominations, for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With A Vocal and Best Rock Song.

Other big hitters among the nominees include Beyonce, with six nominations including Record Of The Year, where ‘Crazy In Love’ is up against Robert Palmer‘s ‘Where Is The Love?’, Coldplay‘s ‘Clocks’, Eminem‘s ‘Lose Yourself’ and OutKast‘s ‘Hey Ya’.

OutKast and Jay-Z also boast six nominations each, with Missy Elliott, Eminem, [/a], [a], [/a], Ricky Skaggs, [a], [a][/a] and the late Warren Zevon all have five.
