Jack White expresses his admiration for the casio-led cover versions of Diff'rent Stripes...

The White Stripes have declared themselves fans of a DIFF’RENT STRIPES, a mysterious tribute band who are set to release versions of the White Stripes hits.

White Stripes mainman and guitarist Jack White was played the mock band’s version of ‘Hotel Yorba’ during an interview with a German radio station. A spokesperson for the station said: “It made him laugh. He asked where it’ll be released and I asked, if he knows, who’s behind it but he

didn’t. I burned the song onto a CD and gave it to him after the show. He was really pleased.”

The single ‘Diff’rent Stripes: a Tribute To The White Stripes’ features casio led versions of ‘Hotel Yorba’, ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’ and ‘I Think I Smell A Rat’. The sleeve-notes make it clear that it is ‘a heartfelt tribute to Detroit’s finest band, the White Stripes’. It will be released at the end of April.

The single has been put together by the people behind Diff’rent Strokes, a similarly assembled tribute to Strokes.
