The Who return after illness

Roger Daltrey is back for Arkansas date

The Who returned to the stage last night (March 22), after cancelling a week of concerts due to singer Roger Daltrey’s bronchitis.

As previously reported Daltrey had to abandon a gig at the Ford Ampitheatre in Tampa last week after one song.

Speaking from the stage last night in Little Rock, Arkansas Daltrey said: “Boy, it feels good to be out of bed.”

The singer though was spotted sipping drinks between songs and coughing while away from the microphone, reports BBC News.

Posting on his blog on Wednesday (March 21), guitarist Pete Towshend wrote: “The last four shows of the tour will go ahead. Roger has been advised by no less than three doctors that he is OK to perform.

“And although I think he may still find the next few days hard (more shows in a row than we normally do) I’m sure we’ll be great.”

The Who’s world tour comes to Europe later in the spring when they will play dates in the UK in May and June, including a headlining slot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
