THE ZUTONS PLAY TSUNAMI BENEFIT GIG

The band will perform on Sunday (January 16) for tsunami victims…

The Zutons are headlining an intimate hometown benefit gig to help victims of the Asian tsunami.

Singer Dave McCabe and saxophonist Abi Harding will be among the acts appearing at the event at the Zanzibar club, on Seel Street, this Sunday (January 16).

The pair will be performing an acoustic set at the tiny venue, which holds 320 people, alongside over 20 other bands and DJs including local acts Tramp Attack, Lyons And Tigers, The 747s and The Little Flames.

McCabe said: “It will be me and Abi. It [the tsunami] is something you hear about and see on the opposite side of the world that has a real effect on you. The least we can do here in Liverpool is get together and play some music to raise some money for them.”

The event will kick off at 1.30pm and finish at 1am.

Tickets for the benefit gig cost £5 and can only be purchased on the door.

All proceeds will go the British Red Cross.
