This game show contestant can’t tell the difference between Jack White and Eminem

Awkward.

A contestant on US quiz show Jeopardy! has been ribbed online after she was seemingly unable to differentiate between Eminem and Jack White.

The popular show has ran for over 50 years – and it revolves around the premise of contestants being given the answer first before they are tasked with devising the accompanying question.

But things didn’t quite go to plan when host Alex Trebek asked the contestants to devise a question for “recent vinyl resurgence has been aided by this musician, who built a pressing plant in his Detroit hometown.”

Despite Trebek displaying a photo of the former White Stripes frontman, the answer failed to register for contestant Julie – who instead pressed her buzzer to ask “Who is Eminem.”

“This lady thought Jack White was Eminem. Second time I’ve died in two weeks watching this show”, one viewer responded to the gaffe on Twitter.

Another said: “The most offensive thing I’ve heard today is someone thinking Jack White was Eminem, even after seeing a photo, on Jeopardy.”

In fairness to Julie, both Eminem and Jack White ARE both based in Detroit, although it’s White who owns a pressing plant for his Third Man Records.

Meanwhile, Jack White returned earlier this week with two new tracks – Connected By Love’ and B-side track ‘Respect Commander’.

Of ‘Connected By Love’, White told Rolling Stone: “I just started humming notes out loud, staring out the window. After that, you really can’t explain it. You just have to get out of the way and let it happen. And you don’t really notice it as it’s happening.”
