Albums and singles released in the UK today

Today (October 1) finally sees the release of Babyshambles‘ second album ‘Shotter’s Nation’, which is up against the return of The Boss Bruce Springsteen‘s new album ‘Magic’.

The albums chart also sees the return of The Cult – fresh from Ian Astbury‘s collaboration with UNKLE‘s third record ‘War Stories’ – with ‘Born Into This’.

Meanwhile, on the singles front, CSS make a play for the chart with ‘Alcohol’, Kate Nash tries to make another big impression with ‘Mouthwash’ and eccentric folkster Devendra Banhart returns with track ‘Lover’.
