Thurston Moore shares new video for ‘Heavenmetal’ – watch

The Sonic Youth man will release a new album in June

Thurston Moore has shared a new video for ‘Heavenmetal’, reports Consequence Of Sound.

The song was originally released on Moore’s latest band Chelsea Light Moving’s self-titled album last year but is now being listed as a solo track. You can watch the video, which was directed by Julien Langendorff, at the top of the page.

Moore has also confirmed he will release a new solo album this year, with its release scheduled for some time in June. The record will be his first full-length record under the name Thurston Moore since 2011’s ‘Demolished Thoughts’. Further details on the forthcoming album are yet to be confirmed.

Recently, the former Sonic Youth man joined The Horrors on stage at The Fly Awards to play their previously unheard song ‘I See You’. You can watch fan-shot footage of the performance below. Both acts were recognised at the inaugural awards, which were held at London’s Forum, with Moore – who is now based in the capital – scoring the Living Legend honour and The Horrors the Outstanding Artistry award.
