Tinie Tempah has told NME that he is working with Pharrell Williams on his new album.

“The second album is well under way, it’s sounding amazing,” the Londoner said. “I’ve been in the studio with Pharrell quite a lot recently and obviously [producer] Stargate. The first album has done so many amazing things, I want to make sure the second one is twice as good.”

Tinie said that fans will be able to hear new material from it “by about September”, and the rapper named the likes of Sleigh Bells and Kanye West as acts he’d like to collaborate with beyond Williams. PopDash are reporting that he’s also hoping to work with Usher, with the pair reportedly having talked about a collaboration already.

The rapper played eight tracks for Live On Letterman at the Ed Sullivan Theatre on Broadway while wearing his trademark sunglasses, and was joined onstage by Eric Turner for ‘Written In The Stars’. His set included his next single in the US, ‘Til I’m Gone’, and tracks from his first record ‘Disc-Overy’ – which he has just released in the US.

Speaking about making it across the Atlantic, he said: “‘Written In The Stars’ has done incredibly well out here, it’s gone platinum. We just released the album today, so far it’s number ten in iTunes so I’m very, very excited.”
