Tinie Tempah: ‘You can hear how getting a Number One changed me on my album’ – video

'Pass Out' out man talks us through his forthcoming debut

Tinie Tempah says getting a Number One single while he was in the studio has shaped his debut album.

The rapper, who played V Festival at the weekend (August 22-23), releases his debut ‘Disc-Overy’ on October 4. He told NME in a video interview you can watch on the right now that the success of his UK Number One single ‘Pass Out’ can actually be heard in the tracks he was making.

“Half the album was recorded pre-‘Pass Out’ and half-post ‘Pass Out’ so you can hear the hungry Tinie and then you can hear the Tinie who is a bit more in his stride,” he explained.

He added: “I really enjoy the fact I was able to have a little bit of success before my album was completed because you can actually hear differences in tonality and hunger and everything in that album. I think that’s an amazing thing to be able to have as an artist.
