Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins and Rozanda 'Chilli' Thomas perform at Pennsylvania's Mixtape Festival
TLC have played live the first time in four years, ahead of the release of their greatest hits album in October.
The remaining members of the R&B trio, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozanda ‘Chilli’ Thomas, took to the stage at the Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Saturday night (July 27) and brought out Lil Mama to perform Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes’ verse and choreography during ‘No Scrubs’. Lil Mama will play Left Eye in CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, a TV biopic of the group, set to air on VH1 later this year. Scroll down to watch the group perform ‘Unpretty’, ‘Waterfalls’ and ‘No Scrubs’.
TLC will release a greatest hits album featuring new songs written by Lady Gaga and Ne-Yo and contributions from Drake and J Cole on October 15. The group were recently forced to defend their decision to re-record ‘Waterfalls’ with Japanese pop singer Namie Amuro performing the rap originally recorded by Left Eye, who died in a car crash in Honduras in 2002. Fans were critical at the group’s decision to replace her.
CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, also stars Drew Sidora (who starred in the film Step Up) as T-Boz and Keke Palmer (who appeared in Joyful Noise) as Chilli. The film’s script was written by Kate Lanier, who previously penned the screenplays for the acclaimed 1993 Tina Turner biopic What’s Love Got To Do With It and Mariah Carey’s notorious 2001 flop Glitter. The two surviving members of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli, served as executive producers.
