THE TOES, the first band signed by Cornershop‘s TJINDER SINGH and BEN AYRES to their own MECCICO label, have announced details of a debut single.
The single is called the ‘Lung Oyster Blues EP’, and will be released on limited-edition vinyl on June 12 through Meccico. The EP is produced by Tjinder Singh, and will feature four tracks, ‘Chrome Radio Rocks’, ‘Nursing Skool’, ‘Breaker’ and ‘Good Things’.
Ben Ayres told nme.com why they decided to sign The Toes. He said: “They were the most exciting live band we have seen for a long time, the frontman (Richie Deeney) is just Dennis Hopper fronting The Rolling Stones. A real solid mix of rock and hip-hop.”
Previous releases on Meccico have only been by Ayres‘ and Singh‘s side project Clinton.
The Toes have also confirmed a London show for the night of the single release (June 12), at the Notting Hill Arts Centre.
