MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Demand forces the duo of Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard to issue new tracks...

Tom Middleton has just finished mixing a compilation of the best of his work with fellow producer MARK PRITCHARD as GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS and JEDI KNIGHTS.

The album, entitled ‘Jedi Selector’, features long deleted classics such as ‘May The Funk Be With You’ and ‘Catch The Break’ alongside previously unreleased tracks from the pair. Speaking to nme.com about the release, Middleton explained that the compilation will “give people another chance to get some of the tracks we’ve been bugged to re-release for years”.

“In fact, I never got around to archiving the old stuff, so its for me and Mark too!” he joked. The compilation marks a full stop for the pair, as they are both currently engaged with solo projects on Ross Allen‘s Blue/Island imprint. However, Middleton denied rumours that they were never going to work together again. “Load of nonsense!” he exploded. “Mark and I are focussing on solo projects for now, but we’ll collaborate when the time is right.”

As well as sporadic DJ dates, Middleton is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album as Cosmos, under which name he scored an Ibiza club smash last year with ‘Summer In Space’. The album will be released in the middle of 2001, and will “reflect everything I’ve done to date in a production sense, but move to a new level of communication through lyrics and spoken word”. ‘Jedi Selector’ is released on October 23rd through Smugg Records. The album will be preceded by a launch party at the first birthday of London‘s Fabric club on October 21st.
