Tom Morello shares grisly picture of his hand being operated on

And it's not for the faint-hearted...

Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello has shared a grisly image of his hand being operated on following an injury he sustained while playing guitar.

Morello, who also plays in Prophets of Rage, seemingly fractured his left hand while playing his favoured instrument on Thursday (June 21), with the musician sharing a picture of his hand on Instagram yesterday (June 24).

Presented in all its gory glory on social media, the image shows his hand being operated on during his emergency surgery – and, if you have the stomach for it, you can see the photograph of Morello’s hand below.

Morello stated in the caption that he will still be performing at Prophets of Rage’s scheduled show at Gröna Lund amusement park in Sweden tomorrow (June 26), writing: “#TheShowMustGoOn #TheBionicMan”.

While Morello appears to be content playing with Prophets of Rage for the time being, one of his Rage Against The Machine bandmates recently voiced his hope that the quartet would reunite again soon.

RATM originally split in 2000, before reforming in 2007 for reunion shows which ran until 2011. Their last album was 2000’s ‘Renegades’.

Drummer Brad Wilk – who also plays in Prophets of Rage – said back in May that “nothing would make me happier than to be able to fuck shit up right now with Rage Against The Machine”.
