Ex-FACTORY RECORDS boss TONY WILSON is to return to his old job as a presenter on GRANADA NEWS.
Wilson started his journalistic career in the 70s as a presenter for the station, before quitting after the success of his Factory Records label which spawned bands including Happy Mondays, Joy Division and their successors [url=]New Order.
However, Wilson, whose life story was played by comedian Steve Coogan in the recent Michael Winterbottom film ’24 Hour Party People’, is to co-host the station’s 6pm evening news, according to Mediaguardian.
He commented: “I feel like I’ve never really gone away…Being asked to present the show again was a bit like the chance conversation that brought Eric Cantona from Leeds to Man U, and for me, just as wonderful”.
